Border Collie Fun

This evening Dott and Scrappy learned a fun new game...playing on top of the round bales. Dott is our 7 month old pup.  Scrappy is her litter-mate that we are dog-sitting until the end of the month.

Dott earned her playtime earlier in the day. It was her first day working sheep. It started off a little wild but she quickly slowed down and started thinking. We were very pleased how it went and are very excited to see how she progresses.

Looks like she did a good job once she slowed down:)

These pictures are wonderful! We grew up with a border collie named Boogie (don't ask!) and she looked a lot like Dott. Scrappy's working pictures make me miss my beloved Australian Shepherd like crazy. We lost him just over a year ago, when he was 15, and I swear, he was the busiest, helping-est animal I'd ever met. *sigh* :)

Super photos!
My first sheepdog was called Dot. She just loved driving and eventually went to Idaho to drive cattle. Quite a journey from here in the UK but Dot was just fine.

That's too funny! My puppies learned the same game last week! Our 2 year old healer/kelpie mix was teasing our 5 month old corgi from on top of the bales, then the corgi found a broken flattened round bale to get up there and join her! It wasn't a fluke because he's been up there since.
